Roots Forest School aims to provide safe and enjoyable activities in woodlands for children in Cheshire, Staffordshire and Gwynedd.
Roots provides opportunities for hands-on learning in an inspirational environment. Children are given appropriately challenging and achievable tasks that build their confidence, skills and independence. The activities lend themselves to teamwork and encourage self-respect, respect for others and awareness of nature.
When working with schools I take aspects of the national curriculum outdoors using your school grounds and local landscape as a learning resource, in effect creating a classroom without walls.
In addition to activities specifically aimed to meet curriculum needs, Roots also delivers a broad and diverse range of activities including building shelters, discovering nature, playing games, environmental art, storytelling and making items from natural materials.
